What is a Mastermind Group?

Your mastermind group is like having an objective board of directors, a success team, and a peer advisory group, all rolled into one.

Put simply, a Mastermind is a committed group of “business best friends” who agree to meet regularly and help each other grow. Everything shared in the group is confidential, and commitment to attend the meetings is a fundamental requirement.

Your mastermind partners give you feedback, collaboratively help you brainstorm new possibilities, and set up accountability structures that keep you focused and on track. You’ll gain tremendous insights to help you and your business grow.

What is the difference between a Mastermind Group & Group Coaching?

Mastermind groups are about the MEMBERS sharing with each other, not about the FACILITATOR coaching individuals in a group setting.

In a mastermind group you have the benefit of everyone’s feedback, advice and support. Yes, the Facilitator will lend their voice to a topic they have a particular expertise around, but the role of the Facilitator is to keep the conversation between the members on track, balanced and beneficial for all.

What is the advantage/benefit of a Mastermind Group?

There is a special energy that surrounds a group of growth-minded individuals working collaboratively – an energy that lifts the individual and the group. In a Mastermind Group, participants raise the bar by challenging each other to create and implement goals, brainstorm ideas, and support each other with total honesty, respect and compassion.

Other benefits:

  • A place to share ideas and solve challenges.
  • A safe space to challenge yourself.
  • Generate new business ideas
  • Built-in accountability to yourself and the group.
  • Feedback in a non-judgmental environment of like-minded others.
  • Support for the times when business, (or life) is difficult.
  • Focus & clarity as the group will help keep you on track.
  • Promotes Better Decision making
  • Increased Confidence
  • You will get great satisfaction from helping other business owners in their businesses.
  • You will create deep and lasting connections with some incredible people.
Why is it important to make a 6-month commitment to my Mastermind Group?

The beauty of committing to a full 6 months is that you CHALLENGE yourself to stay connected and be accountable to your learning and growth.

You create a habit of success and being proactive.

The group will become your rock.

Course correcting (regularly) and accountability as you go along will help you hit your goals faster.

You will grow by committing to the group and challenging yourself every day.

You will develop laser-sharp clarity and total focus on your goals.

How often does the Mastermind Group meet?

Each group meets for 90 minutes, twice a month.

How are the Mastermind Group meetings structured?

The first meeting each month will focus on answering 3 specific questions that you prep in advance and share with the group.

The next part of the meeting will present a business tool or topic that we talk about and work on together. In the second meeting each month, we’ll follow up on the topic or tool previously presented and how you’ve applied it to your business or structure (accountability). In this meeting, we’ll also have a round table discussion based on an idea or challenge presented to the group by one of the members.

This is followed by a round of qualifying questions from the group that helps them understand your idea or challenge in greater detail and an “in my experience” statement or comment from each member to help guide and support your next steps.

What happens if I miss a meeting?

We understand that life happens. While we encourage members to participate in all meetings, the meetings will be recorded and shared with the Mastermind group the day following each session.

How is one-on-one coaching different from the Mastermind Group experience and which one is right for me?

In general terms, individual coaching provides a more personalized experience. It is just you and your coach, working together to problem solve and get things done. The time you spend together is fully tailored to you, and over time, the coach intimately gets to know your strengths, weaknesses, likes and, dislikes, bringing together a higher level of detail about you and your business. Having one-on-one support is preferable if you are looking for a hands-on, individual sounding board, have something very specific you want to work on or have goals and challenges you would prefer not to share with others.

In the Masterminds, a small group works toward a common goal and the subject and touchstones are decided beforehand. It is a more ‘systemized” version of what takes place in an individual coaching experience. Masterminds are good for people who want to increase their commitment to their goal but don’t want the intensity of individual coaching. If you prefer community and enjoy learning in a group environment, the mastermind groups may be a better fit. If you are new to coaching and just want to try it out, masterminds can be a wonderful way to step into the supportive experience that coaching provides.

Please note that for both options – one-on-one coaching and the Mastermind Groups – require a 6-month commitment.
